Iran denies any ceasefire extension talks as Hormuz closure hardens into stalemate
Tehran publicly killed the ceasefire-extension story on Wednesday. A senior Iranian official told Reuters there are no talks at all on extending the 60-day MoU window: "There are no discussions about extending, because from Iran's viewpoint no period ever began, so there is nothing to extend." That directly contradicts yesterday's Anatolia/Pakistani-sourced claim of an agreed extension. Pakistan says the mediation file is not closed and the window, with roughly five days left, "can be extended." The clock expires around 17 August with no visible off-ramp.
