Two ships sink near Hormuz as Reuters reports deliberate Iranian escalation
The Hormuz maritime war has moved from damaging ships to sinking them: GFS PRIDE and CAPE DAO went down within 24 hours. Reuters, citing two senior Iranian officials and one US military official, reports Tehran deliberately escalated about 10 days ago at the highest level to keep oil prices high before the US midterms. Reuters also now reports "extensive damage" at Aramco's Dhahran headquarters after a Houthi strike.

Is diplomacy moving?
No: Iran's reply to the US remains undelivered or unconfirmed. Oman's FM Albusaidi says Hormuz talks with Iran are "completed," pending US-Iran negotiations; this is the first confirmation such an understanding exists, though its terms are unknown.
